Baron Hayashi was the principal guest at a dinner of the Oriental circle of the Lyceum Club on the inauguration of a Japanese section. In the course of replying to toasts Baron Hayashi said that Prince Hirohito enjoyed more freedom here than in Japan.

The British-India Company's 3.3. Manela has started on her maiden voyage as a P, and O. ship, sailing from London with passen- gers and cargo to the Straits, China and Japan on the 10th inst.
