SWEDEN AND THE SALE OF SHIPS.

Co.'s BIG CONTRACT. The civil engineering and con- tracting department of Sir W. G. Armstrong. Whitworth and Co, Ltd., has been successful in obtain- ing in competition, the contract from the Crown Agents for the Colonies for the Ebute Metta Workships, which are to be erected. near Legos for the Nigerian Government Railways. The con- tract, which is an extensive one. consists of the supply, erection. and equipment of new tocomotive shops, carriage and waggon shops, an electrical power station, Baw milla, &c. The dimensions of the principal shops are 500ft. by 235ft. 450ft. by 220ft. The con- tract time for completion in two years.
