CUNARD PROGRAMME. The extended nature of the operations of the Cunard and its associated lines hue naturally necessitated a big building pro- gramme. At present over 300,000 tons of new shipping are under construction, the Cunard Lino's own quota representing 200,000 tons comprised in 13 oil-hurning ships. The first of the Cunard's new fleet of post-war steamers to he commissioned is the Albinia, whose initial voyage was from Liverpool to New York.

The annual report of the Liver- px Underwriters' Association contains some pregnant remarks with regard to the causes of theft and pilferage, which evils, as is well known, have grown to an alarming degree not only im Great Britain but all Over the world.
