A mistake in the decoding of a oypher message, said to have heen caused by the omission of a decimal point, through which the Foreign Office paid out £10,000 instead of £100, gave rise to an action in the King's Bench Division.

In July 1919 the Acting British Consul at Murmansk telegraphed Jin oypher to the Foreign Office asking that a credit of 400,000.
