An

of the Colony gathered under the

banners of their respective champions and participated in

as many exciting tussles as the

ingenuity of their masters could conceive, In addition to the various fold and track events, there was provided a bicycle ruco over a mile course, in which a husky Russian youth, Ignatieff, repeated the win he made in the recent St.

College Joseph's anaual sports. Out of the more gruelling events, St. Joseph's Colloge emerged supreme, for theirs was the privelege of pulling off the three classes of team race, the bicycle race, and of contri- buting the two individual champions of the meet, (S. Rumjahn and Ishimatsu)-a feat which meant a hard amount of training and goes to strengthen the

which reputation

the College has acquired for sports.) Throughout the proceedings there was clearly diecernod a note of healthy rivalvy that was eventually commented upon by the Registrar of the University in his speech at the conclusions of the sports.

A word of credit is due to the various masters concerned whose splendid arrangements of the jinect contributed in the main to

its success.

In inviting Mr Teesdale Mack- intosh, the Registrar of the Hong- kong University, to present the prizes at the conclusion of the sports, the Rev. A. J. S. Stearn, Hon.

thanked the Sceretury, officials for their services.

After expressing his pleasure at having been invited to dis-

Mir tribute the prizes,

Mac- kintosh sail he felt that when the invitation was fasued to bin, the selipols were inviting the Registrar of the University rather than himself. If that was so, the invitation meant that the schools had realised, and had de- manded, that a link should exist between them and the University.

THE WARING COMPANY.

Another Fine Performance. Last night, to a most apprecia-

live audience, the H. B. Waring Company presented Dumas' four- act comedy "A Marriage of Convenience." The play, as is well-known, is a bit of 17tb
