SCHOOL SPORTS.

St. Stephen's College.

At the conclusion of the sports the prizes were distributed by Mra, Severn.

Rev. W. H. Hewitt expressed the very great pleasure it afforded the |Committee responsible for the sports that Mrs. Severn had BO kindly consented to give away the prizes, and expressed apprecia tion to her also for cheering: the candidates in the various events. Her presence amongst them was really part of the sports | as well as as distributor of prizes, and he could assure her they deeply appreciated her kindness. (Applause).

Mr. F. A. Britton (Chairman of the Committee) read out the list of successful competitors. He mentioned that unfortunately he had not had suflicient time to work out the rightful owners of the prizes. No competitor was allowed to take more than three prizes besides championship medals, but he proposed that they should be distributed to the win- ners and then allotted afterwards. The junior championship had been won by Woo Ka Hok, the runner up being Hsu Hon Lay, and the senior championship by Hung Huai Chaug and Ng Han Sin, who were level on points,

Mrs. Severn having distributed the prizes, the Rev. W. H. Hewitt said they had come to the end of TER very successful meeting and an auspicious prize-giving. Un- fortunately in the past rain had somewhat interfered with their jannual sports, but he thought they could not have had better weather than that experienced that day. Mr. Hewitt expressed thanks to the donors of prizes and to Mrs. Severn.

Mrs. Severn was presented with a beautiful bouquet by the win- ners of the senior championship, who called for three hearty cheers which were lustily given.

His Excellency the Officer Ad- ministering the Government (Dr. Claud Severn, C.M.G.), speaking on behalf of his wife, returned thanks for the cordiality of the reception given Mrs. Severn. He could assure them that his wife and himself had greatly enjoyed the sports. He thought they must be very glad they had had such a splendid day.
