Discussion at Sanitary

Board Meeting.

At yesterday's meeting of the Sanitary Board Dr W. E. M. Kook raised a question regarding the provalence of mosquitoes in the Colony and suggested that an extensive and elaborate campaign. should be undertaken to exter minste the post.

Sanitary Department had taken any steps recently to obtain any statistics respecting mosquito larva. He did not wish to speak on the question except to point out that the plague of mosquitoes came on poriodically and there surely must- be some means of dealing with it in order to provent general. nuisanco. He thought the work was within the province of the Sanitary Department.. Apart from the ordinary steps which be know were being taken, he suggested that something on more extensive and elaborate lines might be done to- wards exterminating the port.
