One of the largest funeral pro- | cossions ever seen in the Colony was witnessed last evening, when the remains of the late Mr. E. J. Noronha, J.P., were leid to rest in the Roman Catholic cemetery at Happy Valley. The huge gathering was # tribute to the universal respoot | and esteem in which the deceased gentleman was held. In addition to representatives of the Govern- ment of Hongkong and of H.E. the Governor of Macao there were present officials of various organisations in which the lato Mr. Noronha was interested, the Club de Recreio (of which the deceased was President) being represented by mem- bers of the Committee; the Lusitano Club by Mr. A.F.B, Silva Netto (President) and Com- mittee; the Portuguese Mutual Aid Society by Mr. C.A, da Roza (President) and Committee; and the Kowloon Residents Ar sociation by Capt. Wheeler (President) and Committoo. A message of condolenco was Beut to the widow by H. E. the Gover- nor and Lady Stubbs, which stated that by the death of the deceased not only the Portuguese community but the Colony at! Among the many beautiful Gomes, M. A.
