The Labour Committee, com. prising the chief employers of inbour, has decided to make re-i ductions varying from 'one-third to two-fifths of the special allowances enaceded to employees, chiefly on account of the former high price of rice, from the 15th inst.

A further reduction is to take offect from 15th April,

Pay for unskilled labour will be reduced five cents daily from the 15th inst. and the same amount on 10th April.

The employers in Penang and the Federated Malay States are
