London, January 18. Mr. Samuel McClure's "Yellow Peril" article has produced :wo letters to the Times from Mr. J. O. P. Bland and Sir H. H. Johnston, respectively.

Mr. Bland emphasises the fallaciousness of the idea of Asiatic solidarity which, he says typifies the generalisation common among those applying theories in facts of which they have not full experi- fence.
