GERMAN "SCOTCH" TWEED. "Scotch" tweed cloths have been offered, states the Daily Mul, by a Swiss traveller to British clothing manufacturers and woollen merchants. The cabs provided evidence that the materials came, from Germany, bat the character of certain of the cloths, also the price, led to the Assumption that they might really. be genuine Scottish Iweeds originally purchased by a Con- tinental speculator and Dow offered back to buyers in this country. The traveller declared that the materials were actually manufactored in Germany. The average price asked was higher than the present quotations of Scottish makers for the genuine produs: of their looms.
