In order to meet the demands of its growing business and to provide for several naw enter- prices in Shanghai the authorised. capitalaf the Pacific Development] Corporation has been increased from $10,000,000 to $25,000,000. The original meeting of the Board of directors at which this action was frecommended was held on April] 15 in New York City, and the action was approved at a meeting of stockholders on May 5. Now investments in Shanghai include the following enterprises:

The erection of the Sun Cheong Dil Mill and Refinery.

This enterprise has a paid-up capital; of $750,000 and will participate! to a large extent in the rapidly | growing vegetable oil business in China. Another important enterprise closely

with the growing industrial development of China is the Sun Cheung Iron Works, also with a |capital of (1, $750,000. This com- pany will engage in the manu- facture of all kinds of iron and steel products.
