MITSUBISHI SHOJ KAISHA, LTD.

Weather conditions on Satur- day nàs being at all favourable to sports. there were expectations that the varians games arranged for that day between the Carcho-; slovak troops and the local teams would not take place. The rain, however, held off in the latter part of the afternoon, and there were] then witnessed the three games: which had been scheduled, the OLE PROPRIETORS OF COAL MINES OF

A similar defeat was experienc ed by the Wiltshires in their! game with the Fourth Regiment This event was not so interesting as the other, sod at the con- clusion the Fourth Regiment į managed to snatch a victory with the scores two goals to one..

A baseball match, at the Hong- kong Football Club ground, was contested, between the Crew of the transport Amerika and

local American team com prising Messrs. Routh (Captain), centre fielder; Hamilton, pitcher: Dietricb, catcher; Hanscom first base; Biggar, second base, Cuckow: third base; McGrath. short stop: Brady. right fielder and Hutchins, left fielder. The condi- tion of the ground being slippery. fast work was not parsible. In the second half of the first innings. the local team got two men o bases with no-one out. This was ali the local team could do. The Amerika men was out for results, and following the local tesms achievement they dismissed them without a score. The game wea stopped after the fifth innings to enable the soccer match to be played. Th results were 12 favour of the Amerika's teamby 16 tu nil. The reason assigned for the defeat of the local team was that they have gone rusty in [the game after a period of non- practice for a number of years.
