At the Summary Court this | morning Mr. Justice J. R. Wood, Puisine Julge, gate judgment in the action brought by the Tak Shing Loong firm of 16, Landale Street, Wanchai, against Messrs. Nordish Fjerfahrik, Ltd. carrying On business the Shameen. Canton, having their godowns at 101. Praya East, Hangkang. The plaintifa claimed the sum $600, being money wrongfully deducted by the defendants from the plaintiff's account an February 2nd and they also claimed the costs of the action.

Mr. T. Rowan appeared for the plaintiffs and Mr. M. H. Turner for the defendants.
His Lordship said in this case the plaintiffs are a Chinese Firm trading in this colony and the defendants are a Danish firm. trading in Canton. The plaintiff firm sold and delivered goods to, the defendant firm in Hongkong! on the 27th January last. On the 30th January, Yeang Fung Pan, a partnerin the plaintiff firm, went to Canton and there applied to Mr. Jepresen, the manager of the de- fendant firm, for payment of the sum due for the goods supplied (82.177.56), On receiving this demand for
Mr. payment. Jeppesen, refused to pay the He account in, full at that time. said (in feet): "I previou-ly
ver-paid your frm $259.00 Optober fast; sand, unless you allow me to make a deduction of $650 in the present account, 1 shall pay you nothing, until we have settled our differences in the Hongkong Courts ".
