The procuring of carpenter- ing implements for their escape and plain clothes from the tailor's shop by the axcaping prisoners was dus to collusion or gross negli geace on the part of the Warders who were respon sible for the searching of the prisoners on their leave ing work, and for searching their cells. This state of affairs can only be remedied by adequate European sup arvision.
The procuring by the pri soners of weapons of offence for the perpetration of the murders of the Warders was due to extreme lack of supervision is the tin- smith's shop, where such weapons were fashioned out of fles.
