KID LEWIS KNOCKS OUT FRANK MOODY.

Kid Lewis, the ex-welter weight champion, created a sensation at the Manchester Free Trade Hall recently when he knocked out Frank Moody, of Pontypridd, the promising Welsh welter weight, in eight seconds.

It was all over almost before the big crowd realised the fight 745.26 had begun. Lewis went straight 219 to his man, whose defence crump- led. Swinging his left, Lewis 1.19802 brought Moody

forward and booked the right to the jaw.

W, CHATHAM,

Water Authority.

It was not a hard blow, but it was so perfectly timed and eo ac- curately judged that Moody fell on his face, rolled over, and lay on his back until the referee had counted off the ten seconds.

So certain was Lewis that the nishing blow had been struck that he smiled, wared his band, and was returning to his corner before the referee had ceased counting. It was a staggering finish, and was received in dead silence.

A ten rounds bout between Tom Griffiths, of Pontypridd, and Blazy, the Frenchmen, went the full distance, and Griffiths was given the decision. It was not a spectacular bout, and the men were frequently in holds, but Griffiths was rather the more aggressive in 2 very contest.
