The Second Chamber of the Dutch Senate General has passed an amendment proposed by M. Marchant, Liberal Democrat, re- fusing to grant the Minister of War the sum of nearly two million florins (approaching £160,000) for the manufacture of munitions. The Chamber then peased by a majority of 25 the Army Estimates. for 1920, but the Minister of War, Jonkheer Alting von Geusan, who had already met with several re- buffs during the debate on the Estimates, declared that he was not willing to take the respon- sibility for them in their amended form, and would therefore resign, This is the second resignation
