A FOOTBALL QUERY.
Sir, Some time ago I read ia your paper of an old Swindon Town football player being in the Colony. The reference was to R.P.C. Henry Burkinshaw. of H.A.S. Ambrose I think. There is a deal of argument taking) place just at present as to why this individual has not been selected to represent his ship or the Navy, and why a footballer of the ability of Burkinshaw who played so well for Swindon Town Football Club did not assist England in the International match on December 27th.
There are a few persons in the Wiltshire Regiment who were

Swindon Town F. C. in their civilian and military life and were closely associated with Burkinshaw, as would naturally follow. They have spoken to me and asked пе to try and find out if this Burkinshaw is the same 35 the 000 who played for Swindon Town. Facts of the Swindon Burkinshaw are in their possession and they are asking for this R.P.D. to preduce evidence to assure them that he is the person who he claims to be. They think he is not, and the questions they ask are:---In whai seasons or seaon did he play for the Swindon Town F.C. and which club did he leave to join Swindon, and also to which club did he go after leaving Swindon?
During Burkinshaw's career at Swindon he did one piece of ex cellent work which I am sure he will always remember and of which the Swindon folk are con- tionally talking. It stands out alone above everything else, and I would like through the columns of your paper to ask Burkinshawi what it was.
Will R.P.0.Henry Burkinshaw state the initials and name.he signed on Swindon Town's forms: and give me the constitution of Swindon Town's regular Southern 1.eague side in the days he de-. clares, through your paper, that he was engaged by them?
Yours etc.
