As regards the racing, the priu. cipal event was the Gymkhana Stakes. Pink Eye and Red En- sign had both earned eight points throughout the season, and the race was practically fought out between these two, Pink Eye get ting the victory. There was only. one real surprise of the afternoon and that was when Soares on Lovejoy snatched a victory in the Class Handicap (B. Class). His riding was marked with judg- ment, and it was a cleverly rode race. The race for mafoos was an innovation and brought out a large field.

The officials were the same as have acted throughout the season. In the details below will be found the numbers of sweep tickets that drew unplaced starters, each of these being entitled to $10.

This position was reversed when turning the village- bend, and the Daylight kept in front till the post was ́passed, though Rochester was fact gaining Won by a length many lengths be tween second and third.
