Saturday inaugurated the open- ing of League cricket, and the Civil Service played the Indians. in the League for the first time. on the Servants' ground. The Civil Servants, going to the wicket first, scored steadily. The first fell for 33, the second for 34 and and the third for 38. R. O Hutchison

useful asset. at this stage, his contribution of 34 being the result of steady bac- ting. With 137 runs to make, the Indians had to strain them- selves.
