The cat is not a scientific ma- chine for mouse-catching. I mean a posse of cats cannot clear a house of mice; they just catch them as they "catch can." A scientific friend tells me the mouse is a most interesting creature, all eyes and ears and silent swift- ness. But I don't like them swiftly moving over my face in bed.
