FORGERY OF ROUBLE NOTES

ALLEGED ATTEMPT AT SUICIDE BY RUMANIAN, CROWN PRINCE. A San Francisco special to the Araki reports ELI attempted suicide on the part of the Ruman- Jan Crown Prince, whose depart. ure for Japan on a complimentary mission to the Japanese Court had been announced. Recently a child was born to them. It was his father, King Ferdinand, who, equally anxious, thought that if the Prince had a tour of some months amidst the beauties of Japan, for which the purposed mission afforded opportunity, it might cure him of his attach- ment. It is rumoured, says the dispatch, that his grief at the coming separation from his - sweetheart drove the Prince to
