The Commission has continued its campaign for home food pro- duction this year because it re alized the worid neea and that if America were to keep its promise to ship vast quantities of staples abroad there must be no let-up in Cultivation of all available land. The Commission again this year has furnished the press cf the country with short daily garden lessons for the instruction of the home food growers. It has sup- plied free garden booklets to any- body who applies; and its posters have been displayed all over the country. It has also distributed hundreds of thousands of can- ning and drying booklets to aid is the conservation of all surplus garden products so that nothing go to waste.

Manufacturing and industrial concerns of all sorts, including the railroads, banks, chambers of commerce and other trade bodies, banks, libraries, women's clubs, state, county and city officials, local committees and other organ- izations have co-operated with the National War Garden Com- mission in spreading the message and urging upon the people the importance of continuing the work of increasing food supplies.
