An order has been circulated that the former Civil Governor. Li Iu-hom, is to be arrested, add any one giving information lead- ing to this result will be rewarded. It is reported that a sum of $50,000 is the reward.

It appears that matters have come to a head and the Civil Governer (Mr. Chak Wang) tendered his resignation on Wed- nesday and this morning handed Over to Choung Kum-fang. the official seal and papers relative to his office. He attended a lunch at the Victoria Hotel privately and lef: Canton by the Hongkong steamer Fatshab this afternoon.
The office of Civil Governor is for the time being going begging. and several names have been mentioned in this connection. including that of Dr. Wu Ting- Fang.
