INDUSTRY.

One of the industries in Japan which suffered most from the armistice was the shipbuilding industry. A large number of orders for the construction of steamships was received during the war.

Since the armistice. however, a good many of these orders have been either absolutely or partially cancelled, bringing about many cases of dispute in the courts.
