Replying to the German Press Baresu communique and the Government's notification that they are sending repre- sentatives to Versailles the Council of Four replied that it cannot receive representatives who are merely messengers. Germany must appoint representatives with the same powers as those of the Allied plenipotentiaries.

The authorities announce that anyone found wearing badges of the Association of National Police formed under the leadership of a Deputy, ostensibly to preserve order. will be arrested as the formation of such corps is forbidden. A commusique dated April 19 states that number of arms have been seized in several villages and the neighbourhood of Drut. Persons inplicated in the disturbances near Cairo on April 17 have been arrested. Cairo is quiet and there have been no new camalties the last three days.
