Gandhi has arrived and is released but has been ordered to remain within Bombay Presidency. All markets contique closed. All exemptions under the Indian Defence Act have been cancelled owing to the emergency which has arisen.

occasion of Ghandi's return, Ghandhi appealed to his supporters to
refrain from all violence and declared that occurrences like attacks on Europeans and other lawlessness constituted a blot on the passive resistance movement for which they must atode. The meeting dispersed in an orderly manner. Subse quently, minor disturbances occurred. Serious disturbances are reported to have occurred at Ahmedabad but there are no details.
EUROPEANS MURDERED.
