SCIENTIST'S NEW STUDT... "There is an immense amount of knowledge or in the melting- pot," said Sir Oliver Lodge, lecturing at the Royal Institute recently. Extraordinary vistas) are opening up. It is very in- structive to realise how the infinitely great in the study of astronomy is related to the in- Snitely small in the study of atoms." Sir Oliver Lodge added that as a result of careful experi- ments extending over many years he had proved to his satisfaction that ether
was
to
nattached to the earth, a ques- tion which had puzzled students of natural science for many years. Asked by 2 Daily News representative what were
chief the
problems which he intended to devote his researches in the fature, Bir Oliver said: "I am going to study the relations between ether "and matter, and also their psychic bearings. I think that both matter and ether will be found To have paychic bearings. I am going to find out all I can in the years that remain to me. But there is far more to be done then I can accomplish.
