In connection with this matter, the following Consular notifies
tion has been issued --
Some ten days ago the Direc tor of the Provincial Telegraph Administration detained in cus- tody the Manager of the Shameen Office, and without previous con- saltation with the undersigned installed a nominee of his own with instructions to take chargo of the Office and of all monies and accounts in other words of foreign property, as cash on deposit belongs to the Cable Companies ur to foreign fiquis.
In view of this very irregular procedure, the Director was informed that his nominee would not be recognised, nor would the anatter be open to discussion until the Manager was set at liberty.
In spite the expressed rel quest of the Military Guvern- ment, the Manager has not so far been released, and the telegraph clerks were withdrawn at 3.30 p.m., so that it is no longer possible to send messages from Shameen.
