GASOLENE PRODUCTION' IN U. S.
3 Washington, March 16. The production & gasolene in the United States in 1918 totalled 85,000,000 barrels, compared with 68,000,000 barrels in the previous year, and 50,000,000 in 1916.-American Wireless.
LEAGUE OF NATIONS COVENANT AMENDMENTS.
Paris, March 27. During a three-hour session, the League of Nations Commission considered the proposed amendments to the Covenant and disposed tentatively of the first 16 sections and changed four, which the members the Commission claim will meet more than 50 per cent. of the objections offered by the American Senators.

The entire Covenant, when the amendments are agreed upon by the Commission, will be submitted to the Drafting Commission, which will put it into a more definite legal form before submission to the Supreme Council.

An official statement says that at Monday night's session of the League of Nations Commission, the Commission considered amendments to Articles IX. and XIV, so that two-thirds of the draft Covenant have now been examined.
