CORONET

A NEW FILM STAR IN A FINE PHOTOPLAY.

A short while ago we introduced to you a new Fox Star, George Walsh and everything that we said about him fourteen crowded houses carroborated. To-morrow WO shall show upon the screen at the Coronet another setor of eminence, but of an entirely different style, William S. Hart in a wonderful "Triangle" play, "Hell's Hngen." ««

Hart in the kind of man who can hold up a whole town at the point of a couple of revolvers without there being anything unreal about it. He is the Corboy of the screen, and when you see him leap from a rock some ten feet or so into the saddle or drive his horse down an almost perpendicular hillside, you know instinctively that there is no fake about it. So much for the principal sotor, now for the play!

In a rough and lawless community there stood a place of ill repute, a place that it was good to pass by. Its original name was shrouded by its evil deeds, and finally lost. To those who knew, it suggested the title "Hell's Hinges," a rough but not inapt cognomen, a town of undiluted evil, a crying scandal to civilisation.

Blaze Tracey is the "bad man," the leader of the" avil spirit that pervades, and though we are not shown much of W. S. Hart on the "bad" side in "Hall's Hinges," it is Is an easy step to imagine what part this silent, power- ful actor has taken.

Away in the city a young weakling is being pushed into the ministry by an ambitious mother. The character of Rav., Robert Henley (Jack Standing) is a bitter satire: he is the son that is unfit to battle through this life, and so is driven to attempt the leadership of those seeking a future one.

Without sufficient plack sad nerve to withstand the trials of a strenous city mission, he is sent upon ordination to Hell's Hinges". Ho is, however, accompanied by his sister Faith (Clara Williams), and if that were not so, the story would and abruptly enough.

To Silk Miller (Alfred Hollingsworth) the advent of the new minister is bat the cause of uproarious mirth, and to Blaze Tracey is given the task of blocking the mission- ary work and clearing out the sky pilot.

Faith, however, is the intervening factor. To Blaze" she is something beyond his comprehension, a glimpse of heaven's sweetness that he can but dimly grasp. The "bad" man changes instantly. He determines that the brother of such a girl shall have at least a fair hearing, aud no one dare say nay to the will of the resolute Blaze.

It is not religion that effects the wonderous change. It is the woman. There is no hypocrisy of this sort in the entrancing story.

Silk Miller sees rain to his saloon, and arrays all his forces of desperados and syren decoys in opposition. By the aid of Dolly (Louise Glaum) he entices the minister to the saloon, gets him drunk and disgraced. Silk now looks upon Blaze as his enemy, and one to be feared. But he seizes the chance of Blaze's absence, and the half- drunken mob burn down the newly erected church sad fight the lawful inhabitants.

But Blaze returns, and his reply is swift. It is Hart. He corners the crowd in the saloon, barns it down and the whole town with it. And from the midst of the lurid flames of the doomed towa emerges a new man, to be the loving protector of Faith.

The ending is delightfally artistic. In the morning, amidst the ruins, enshrouded by the still lingering smoke traces of the overnight scene of horror, are seen three figures silhouetted against the sky of the early daw Blaze, hia faithful horse, and Faith-there is no love- making.

Beyond those hills lies the future life; come sad share it with me," is all that Blaze says. And the now loving Faith passes with him.
