fewer than in normal times, and From this must be even when here the men have seemed to be attached, not so much to a Garrison or Bese as to a Training ramp from which every man might expect to be drafted to the Front. This has meant that the circum- stance in which the Honie has! operated during the war have differed vastly from those of the crowded centres on the great highroads in the different theatres of war. Some items of income have been much reduced; but all the activities of the Home! have been maintained and the year ends with a fair balance in Land. No public appeal has been made in the Colony during the War, and with the exception of one grant fram the Admiralty, the donation of the Whampoa Bethel Fund and a grant from the Canadian Britishi Sailors' Relief Fuad, the Home has been run on a self-supporting basis. The following figures give some idea of activities during the Year:
40,000 meals, including teas ead light refreshments, served.
6,500 men have slept at the Home.
Homes", concerts and lectures.
6,000 men have attended re- ligious meetings.

been continued through the year. The large attendances at the P.S.A. for Service men, held in the Home every Sunday after- noon, have demonstrated a real interest in religious ideas, and without doubt many men have been helped by the warmth and reality of these simple gatherings. The new Prays East reclama- tion scheme will in due time in- volve the removal of the present Home. Representations as to fa- ture plans have already been made to the proper authorities, and eventually, we hope to be able to reconstruct the Home on a larger scale and to extend its work and influence. The finan- cial statement shows a balance of $1,707.
