Settlement of Søldiers.

Mr. G. T. Milne, who has been for some years the British Trade Commissioner in Australia, bisa made a report to the President of ite Board of Trade dealing with Cmmonwealth legislation for the repatriation of soldiere, sailors, sod noreet. He says:

the Federal Government should advance to the States up to $20, C00,000 to assist in carrying out the settlement. It has beta estimated that the valus of the land and the amount of the advance to be made to the settlers will eventually cost £60,000,000. Under the proped scheme tha Boldier will be enabled to secure a block of land end an advance up to £500 for plant, stock, &% Where necessary the settler will be trained at a farm free of cost."
