EARLIER TELEGRAMS.

GERMAN ARMISTICE SIGNED,

Hostilities Ceased Yesterday,

London, Nov, 11. The Press Bureau states that the Prime Minister an nounces that the armistice was signed at five on the morning of the Fith and hostilities were to cease on all fronts at eleven on the same morning,

The German Courier's Trip

London, Nov. 9.

A French wireless message last night stated that the German Captain von Helldorf was waiting for" the German Fire to cease in order to return to the German lines by the La Capelle-Fourmies Road The French fire bad ceased on this particular sector. This refers to the German courier with the text of the armistice.

It is officially explained that the Geman courier was detained by the explosion of an ammunition dump, which he mistook for machine-gun fire.

Beater is informed that the German courier with the terms of the armistice finally crossed the German lines by aeroplane.

THE GERMAN REVOLUTION.

New Electoral Laws.

London, Nov. 8.

A German wireless message says: The Majority Socialists have decided upon equal direct secret suffrage and propor tional representation for the Reichstag. Both sexes over 24 years of age will have a rote.

The Socialists have postponed the period for the Kaiser to abdicate in view of the present discussion on the armistice,

Master Tailer as Chancellor.

Amsterdam, Nov. 9.

Prince Max will be appointed Regent of the Empire. Herr Ebert, who has been appointed Chancellor, is a Socia list and a master tailor in Berlin The Berlin Government is despatching persons to various towas to warn people against Bolshevism and against upsetting the food organisa- tion. These representations have resulted in checking the revolutionary movement at several "places.

The Police have closed the Independent Socialist Head- quarters at Berlin and have arrested the Secretary and the

Independent Socialism" editor

Revolution Spreading.

London, Nov. 9.

Soldiers stormed the military trains at Cologne yester-. day. Officers were dragged out and disarmed in order to. prevent them from going to the front. A procession then marched Larough the town and all military and civil prisoners were released. At Gladbach and Rheydt soldiers tore off the epaulettes of the Captain of the Distries Commander. The disturbances are spreading to the frontier districts: All munition works in the country are at a stand still.

Revolution is spreading in western Germany, including Cologne. At Kiel the Soviet issued a proclamation to the inhabitants of Schleswig-Holstein, saying, they are the exist ing authorities. In estabushing a new order our aim is to free the social peoples of the Republic, Questions outside the provincial limits will naturally still belong to Imperial Le gislature. We are willing to co-operate with the presen: powers as long as they submit to the new policy, but we will forcibly put down any resistance." At Berlin the Soviet Also, issued a manifesto saying, they would co-operate with the existing authorities as long as they submit to the Soviet. Soviets are cstablished in numerous other towns. In some cases, including Oldenburg, only part of the garrisons participated. A soldier addressing a big demonstration at Bremen declared that revolution was necessary to secure "a peace of righteousness, otherwise it will be a case of uncon- ditional capitulation, Soldiers have seized the radway station at Hanover and have formed a Soviet. Hitherto the revolution is almost everywhere proceeding in orderly man per and the authorities are offering no opposition. There is no sews as regards the simation among the armies at the front

ON THE WEstern Front.

London, Nov. 9.

A French communique states: "To-day our troops resum-

ed the advance along the whole line.

An American communique says: North and south of Danvillers our advance successfully continues, meeting with strong machine-gun resistance.

MINE-SWEEPING IN THE DARDANELLES.

Paris, Nov. 9, Owing to the necessity of careful iine-sweeping the Allied Fiests will not reach Constantinople for several days.

AUSTRIANS NOT RESPECTING ARMISTICE.

London, Nov. 9, An Italian wireless message complains that the enemy bae not yet completed the naval clauses of the armistice,
