The Sunk Liner St. Paul., Advices from New York state that work is proceeding on the system of cables and pulleys raforted tonight the sunken liner St Paul, of the American Line. Since April 25 she has been lying on her side in the slip between Piera 61 and 62, her salvius having proved an extre- mely difficult task. Latterly the method of pulling the vessels into position by means of hawsers attached to uprights on the vessel's side has been revived. At the same time a means has been found to exert a simultaneous pull on the submerged side from the opposite pier. Slow progress has been made on these lines during the past few days. The dual pull has been exerted constantly. and the liner has been moved through sims 45 of the 90 degrees required to right her. Sometimes an hour or more
