A Dangerous Dass. A Danish sailor who had come ashore from a torpedoed vasual had too much to drink in s ocantly public-house and was left by his friends to sleep.it off in a ditch. Awakened in the night by rais, he went towards a light which he could see. Horing scaled a wall he entered the build- ing within by breaking a window, and completed bie night's rest. In the morning, when workmen appeared, he found he had taken abelter, with matches in his pocket, in the drying room of a manition factory, and at Ware ham, Dorees, recently, he was fined 42 and ordered to pay for the broken window,

A Fifty Million Dividend. £50,000,000 was paid out one day recently in dividends to the 1,600.000 holders of War Load, The Chancellor of the Erobequer bas seked that if possible the whole of this som shall be lent back to the country in the form of National War Bonds. The big business houses and fasncial corporations are all responding to the request. Many are not only re-investing their dividend, bat" are adding a great deal more. The small investor cannot do better then follow their example. The National War Bonds are the finest and esfest investment to he had. Now that the banks have decided not to allow more than 3 per cent. interest on deposits, their yield is fally 2% per cent, more than car be obtained by merely allowing www money to lie idle at the bank.
