No Truth in the Weak-Minded. "I don't think that I ever met a mentally-defective person who told the truth." said Miss Krolyn Fox, recently. Mise Fox, who, is secretary of the Central Associa tion for the care of the Mentally Defective, suggests that although about 60 per cent, of inebriates sre mentally deficient insane persons are not. The feeble- minded are wayward, impulsive, unbalanced, aucertain, and prone to follow anyone. Half the women in rescue homes, 20 per cent. of our workhouse "inmates, and 20 per cent, of our criminala are mentally defective. The pro- portion of weak-minded people in England has increased until it is now about 1 in every 248.

New Trench Disease, Uneasiness caused by the- epidemio of a peculiar rash which' has broken out in various paris of England is only slightly allay- ed by the reports made to the Ministry of Food by eminent ex perts.
