·German Ratioalog Difficult:
London, July 9.
Router's correspondent at Britab Headquarters, wiring to-day, says: The ipoll of dry weather was broken on the night of the 8th in violent thunder-storms ending in a terrifa hailstorm. The only retaliation the enemy has hitherto attempted for the Australian success at Villers Bretonneux has taken the form of heavy minenwerfer fire. Prisoners also reported considerable confusion in the rear of the line. So difficult was the rafioning of the German outpost line in lace of our fire that the enemy was forced to use seroplanes as supply lorries, a box of bully best and biscuits being dropped mistakenly from a hostile low. flying plane on one of our forward posts. This is the fat time such a practice has been followed on the western front.
