The report of the directors of the Sutherland; Steamship Co., | Ltd. at Sist "March, 1918, states that the profit and loss account, after payment of interest on mortgage loan, interim dividend and after providing, for income. tax, excess profite dúgy and contingences, leaves a other balance of £50,309 3s 11d. The directors recommend the pay ment of a final dividend of 48 per share, free of income tax, which will absorb £4,000, leayink' a
balance of £10,309 39 11d to” be carried forward. Two directors, Mr. Charles Wright and Mr. B S. Sutherland retire, but cffer themselves for re election.

We under stand that in pursuance of the obvious desire to have ready a well formulated scheme for the rehabilita'ion of devastated Bel- gium consideration has been given to the chrious necessity for the vast amount of machinery raw materials, and consequently, the shipping facilities that will. be required for this purpose.
