A Ministry of Justica. *Correspondence which has pase- ed between the Minister of Be. Construction and the President of the Law Society shows that the Machinery of Government Com- mittee, of which Lord Haldane is ohairman, has devoted a consider. able amount of attention to the establishment of a Ministry of Justice, the reform af legal pro cedars, the education and orga visstion of the profession. Lid Haldane (states the Law Journal) is firmly convinced that our legs! system, standa urgeatly in "need of reorganisation, and that the creation of a Ministry of Justice is an essential preliminary to the reforme that are required.

Dismissal of 40,000 Women. Within six weeks over 40,000 | women were going to be dismies- ed from munition factories, said Miss Obristabel Parkhurst, at the London Pavilion. Af an inter- view between the women's party and a representative of the Ministry of Munitions, no assurance was given that the dismisssla would not continue. It was horribly alarming, and hardly encourag ing to women to fight for their country.
