THE "KHAKI BAG.”
How Its Contributions are Appreciated.
Mrs. Milroy, who has been so Enccessful in raising money by means of the "Little Khaki Bag," to help provide smokes for woldiers an activa service, bas just received an official - no- knowledgment from the Weekly Dispatch, to whose Tobseco Fund ¦a contribution of £20 was recent· ] ly sent. The`soknowledgment ways that, in accordance with wishes sxpressed, parcels of [smokes will be sent to “detroh- |ments of the Royal Artillery and
the Tank Corps.
In addition-to-this, &-number of postcards have been received from 'soldiers who have received the smokes, and many of them
| are from man, who were formar-
ly stationed in Hongkong.
Capt. Haslewood writes: "Many thanks for the cigarettes, which arrived quite safely and were very much appreciated. Good look to all in Hongkong, from some of its krmer Garrison."
Another writer says:-" It makes it more interesting to send this card by the fact that twelve months ago I was serving out! Eset, when I enjoyed myself very maoh. It would be nios si Mount Austin nów”.
“They (the smokes) could not have arrived at a better moment, for our stock had run out. You: would not know us now. From one who used to be in Hongkong", writes another Tommy; whilst the writer of another postcard res marks:-"I see that you have [ not forgotten us, for I was serving in Hongkong until ápril 7, 1917, which was the best period I have {served. - I very often dream of
