While taxicabs must be ailable for business and other necessary purposes, no able-bodi ed man or woman should use, one except in case of absolute necessity. The are of taxicabs for selfish smusement is the cause of much ill-feeling se well so waste. * Heavy Sugar Fines.
At Liverpool, fines amounting to £330, together with an order for the confiscation of ten tons of eugar, valued at $500, were imposed on the British Work man's Pablie Bonso Company, Lid., and the managing director, Heary Porter, for contravening the Sagar Order of 19.7 and the Sogar Bestriction Order of 1917. It was alleged that the defendante rad declared in the allotment applica tion from that they had little over a ton of sugar in their shops and factory, whereas the inspectors founi over 14 tons.
