In connection with an engage- ment with the enamy, which resulted in his being granted the Distinguished Service Oxoss, & well-known cosptain: member of t the Imperial Merchant Service Guild writes to inform the secretary that he has been done the great honour by the Com- mittee a Lloyd's of a bar being - giver to him to the Lloyd's Silver Medal which he obtained in February, 1902 The Committe of Lloyd's have requested the captain to send his medial alo to them in order that they can go into the matter. of designing" a bar for it, this being the first- time that Lloyd's Committee have ever given a bar to their medel. The captain naturally considers this a great honour, and is very proud of it. In connection with the sameincident he was awarded £200 for himself and crew by the Admiraly. as well as being
