Japanese Vessels fa the Mediterranean,
As already reported. (says the Japan Chronicle") the. Osyka Shosen Kaisha has opened a line to Marseilles, while private Japanese shipping concerns have also come to place an increased number of vessels on the Medi- terranean run. At present the N.Y.K. vessels on the Mediter- ranean run are only the Asia- maru and tha. Akebono-meru. The N.Y.K. has now decide to place-the. Kirishimayama-maru, on that run. Further the "Com-· pany has chartered the Wada- maru, 4.500 tops and the Kahiko- maru, 3 800 tons, both of the | Murai Kisen Kaisba, at Y42 per . ton for one year, to be delivered in April sext. The two vestela are also to be operated between Port Said and Marseilles. It is expected that there will be competition between the Nippon Yusen Ka'sha and the Osaka Shosen Kaisha in that part of the world.
