The Press and Peace.

The conclusion of peace with Russia has evoked po particular excitement in Berlin or elsewhere. "Vorworts" calls German So cialists to take up the fight to prevent the new neighbour- ing states being treated as subjugated. The "Muenchener Post' on the contrary declares that the proposals must be materially altered at the general conclusion of peace. This is also the view of the Dutch press, the Catholic "Tyd remarking that the treaty testifies to German bad faith. The "Vienca Press' rejoices over the new era in Europe. and considers the most important feature is that there is no common Anstro-Russian frontier. The Paris "Temps" says the duty of the Allies is to declare the treaty null and void.
