The Osaka Bhesen Kaisha'res. Naha-maru, 961 tons, which left Naha, Loochoo Islande, on the 27th ult. for Moji and Kobe, ran ashore near Saganosoli, Oita- ken, at five o'clock on Tuesday mirning and foundered. Japanese Steamer Launched. A freight steamer of 3,030 tons was launched from the Matsuo Iron Works' dockyard at Koyati, Nagasaki, recently, and WAS christened Tama-maru by the. wife of Mr. Utsunomiya of Tokyo, for whom she is being built. The

Ad Adventurous Voyage: Seattle, January 25:-Confider- able interest has been arodsed.... hare by the arrival of the Hoko- marn, a Japanese schoonar of 58 tons with a crew of ten. ». She took 53 days to accomplish the voyage from Yokohama. In connection with the above, it is stated that. the tiny. veisel is owned by the Fokorikai, s volunteer association which was founded by Lientenant Guoji, a.retired officer of the Imperial Navy. The schooner carried a cargo of beans in order to defray the cost of her navigating across the Pacific.

Launch of the Africa Mara. The Africa Maru, 10,000 tons. belonging to the Osaka Shosen Kaisha was launched. at "the Mitsubishi Engine and Dockyard. Company recently. She will be placed on the Tacoma Hongkong service as soon as she is ready for use, replacing the Hawai Maru which will be commissioned on the South American line. Moji and the Steamship Companies.

The Moji. Chamber of Com- merce has decided to appeal to the Toyo Kisen Kaisha and the Nippon Yusen Kaisha for the call at that port of the companies steamers exceeding 10.09) fons. fit is stated in the petition that steames of 10,000 tons and over. belonging to the companies call at Nagasaki now, but hot at Moji.
