Another steamer which was attnaked off Cyrenaics smartly eluded the torpedo and then ohased and hit the enemy sub- marine, which is belit d to have been destroyed.

The retention for the greater. merchant marine fleet of the United States after the war, of British, Norwegian and other foreign ships commandéered while under construction in the United States yard has been announced by the Shipping Board in its first annual report to Congress.
