Art Gift to the Nation.

A collection of Datch and Flemish masteru, inclading Robens and Vandyke, and valued at £70,000, has been presented sa a gift to the nation by Mr.. Wm. Harvey, of The Grove, Roundhay, Leeds, a widely-known member of the Society of Friende. The pictures were part of a legacy of an uncle, and for some time have been, housed at The Grove. Mr. Harvey decided in making the gift that the pictures should be as far as possible available to all art lovers throughout the" country," and arrangemente have been complet- ed for a scheme. under which the complete collection shall be r hibited from time to time at the provincial galleries. The care of the pictares will be addertaken by a traet, to be called the National Loan Collection Traat, and the first trustees include Sir Sidney Colvin, Hr. R. C.
