Tokyo, October 8. The number of deaths caused by Monday's typhoon increases hourly. The casualties and damage are so great that a comprehensive estimate is not yet available. It is believed that the material damage will total over a hundred million yen. In the Tokyo Prefectura alone there have been over 500 deaths, 3,000 houses have been destroyed and 150,000 submerged, while 200,000 people have been rendered homeless.
