U-boat Murderers:

It is evident, that the U-boat murderers are striving to carry out in general practice the policy advocated by Count von Luxburg to "sink without a trace." An suthoritative statement gives the following as the latest instances of cold blooded murders on the High Seas. The Belfast sahooner Jane Williamsrn, 197.tons, was attacked by a su marine recently off the coast of "Cornwall and ́shelled till she sink. The crew of air took to fhaleboat, where- upon the subminglabelled the shipwrecked crews of whom were killed. The master, mate and a seaman were picked up he following morning seriously wounded. The schooner Wiliam was also attacked and sunk” by.... gunfire. The submarine fired. shrapnel at the crew in their open host and one of them Was wounded.

Accommodation for Seamen Considering the interest which is being taken in the question of accommodation for seamen in British whips, says "the Syren,"- it may be helpful to indicate what, at any rate, one of our rival is doing in the matter. The United Kingdom rules roughly stipulate for 120 cubic ft. and 15 superficial ft. per men (including mess-rooma, bath- rooms or washing places, 80 arranged that in the sleeping quarters there is not less than 12 superficiel ft. per man There is no special provision för lavatories.
